ITEM  9.  REGULATION  FD  DISCLOSURE

     On  December 5, 2000, Triton Energy Limited will present an investor update
entitled  "Investor  Update  -  December  5, 2000". The investor update has been
revised  to reflect, among other events, the commencement of production from the
Ceiba  field  in  Equatorial  Guinea  and the spudding of an exploration well in
