The Company has added the following provision to this Prospectus:
Distribution:
The following information relates to Contracts and Certificates issued in
connection with the Maryland Optional Retirement Program (the "Program") and
supplements the "Distribution" section on page 16 of the Prospectus:
Pursuant to the provisions of Maryland law, the Company will reimburse the
Maryland State Retirement Agency (the "Agency") each year for a portion of
the administrative and operational expenses associated with the Program,
including the costs incurred by the Agency in selecting companies and the
types of annuity contracts to be offered under the Program. Such payments
are made from the general assets of the Company and are not deducted from
Participant Account Values.
