On December 1, 2000, TRICON Global Restaurants, Inc. issued a press release with respect to the announcement that McLane Company, Inc. a subsidiary of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has finalized its purchase of the U.S. distribution business of AmeriServe Food Distribution, Inc. A copy of such press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99 and incorporated herein by reference.
