Item 8. Change in Fiscal Year.
Effective April 15, 1996, the Board of Directors of Blount, Inc. (the "Company")
approved the change of the Company's fiscal year from a year ending on the last
day of February, which was the fiscal year end used in its most recent filing
with the Securities and Exchange Commission, to the new fiscal year end of
December 31. The report on Form 10-K for the ten-month period ending December
31, 1996, will be the form on which the report covering the transition period
will be filed by the Company. During the transition period, the Company will
file quarterly reports on Form 10-Q on the basis of the quarter-ends of the
newly adopted fiscal year, March 31, June 30 and September 30.
