Supplement to Prospectus

Nuveen Tax-Exempt Unit Trust

Breakpoint Sticker
April 8, 1994

The Sponsor has increased the number of breakpoints at which investors
can enjoy sales charge reductions for secondary market volume
purchases. New breakpoints have been added for purchases in excess
of $50,000, $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Accordingly, notwithstanding
anything to the contrary in this Prospectus, for "secondary market" sales
the Public Offering Price per Unit of each Trust is determined by
adding to the Trustee's determination of the bid price of each Bond in
the Trust a sales charge determined in accordance with the table set
forth below based upon the number of years remaining to the maturity
of each such Bond, adjusting the total to reflect the amount of any cash
held in or advanced to the principal account of the Trust and dividing
the result by the number of Units then outstanding. The effect of this
method of sales charge calculation will be that different sales charge
rates will be applied to the various Bonds in a Trust portfolio based
upon the maturities of such Bonds, in accordance with the following
schedule. As shown, the sales charge on Bonds in each maturity range
(and therefore the aggregate sales charge on the purchase) is reduced
with respect to purchases of at least $50,000 or 500 Units:

$250,000, etc., and will be applied on that basis which is more favorable to the purchaser.

In addition, the schedule for determining the amount of dealer
concessions on secondary market purchases of Trust Units has been
modified in response to the increase in available breakpoints.
Accordingly, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this prospectus,
the amount of the dealer concession on secondary market purchases of
Trust Units through the Sponsor will be computed based upon the value
of the Bonds in the Trust portfolio, including the sales charge, and
adjusted to reflect the cash position of the Trust principal account, and
will vary with the size of the purchase as shown in the following table:
