Jeanne L. Mockard, Vice President of Putnam Investment
Management, Inc. ("Putnam Management") and Vice President of the
Fund, is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of
the Fund's portfolio and has had this responsibility since March
8, 1994.   Ms. Mockard has been employed by Putnam Management
since August, 1990.
