The Registrant, Solv-Ex Corporation, will be unable to prepare and file timely
its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended December 31, 1998, because of delays in
completing its initial audit following the Registrant's emergence from
proceedings under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code on
approximately August 31, 1998. The Registrant represents that the delay could
not have been eliminated without unreasonable effort or expense and, in
particular, involved engagement of new independent auditors for completion of
the audit and preparation of an audited balance sheet as of August 31, 1998.

Form 10-Q for the fiscal quarters ended September 30, 1997, December 31,
1997, March 31, 1998, and September 30, 1998; and Form 8-K at the
commencement of the bankruptcy or reorganization date. The Registrant has
filed a "No Action" letter request with the Securities and Exchange
Commission ("SEC") concerning the requirements to achieve a current
reporting status, but as of this date, no response has been received from
the SEC.
