Joanne Soja and James F. Giblin, each a Senior Vice President of
Putnam Investment Management, Inc. ("Putnam Management") and each
a Vice President of the Fund, are primarily responsible for the
day-to-day management of the Fund's portfolio. Ms. Soja and Mr.
Giblin have had this responsibility since June, 1993 and October,
1994, respectively. Ms. Soja has been employed by Putnam
Management since June, 1993. Prior to June, 1993, Ms. Soja was a
Portfolio Manager/Analyst at Chancellor Management and prior to
July, 1990, was an Analyst at Putnam Management. Mr. Giblin has
been employed by Putnam Management since April, 1993. Prior to
April, 1993, Mr. Giblin was Managing Director-Head of Equity
Investments at CIGNA Corp. Investments.
