SUPPLEMENT TO THE
PIONEER MID-CAP FUND PROSPECTUS
dated February 1, 1996 (revised March 1, 1996)
Management of the Fund
Each domestic equity portfolio managed by PMC, including the Fund, is overseen
by an Equity Committee, which consists of PMC's most senior domestic equity
professionals, and a Portfolio Management Committee, which consists of PMC's
domestic equity portfolio managers. Both committees are chaired by Mr. David
Tripple, PMC's President and Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice
President of each Pioneer mutual fund. Mr. Tripple joined PMC in 1974 and has
had general responsibility for PMC's investment operations and specific
portfolio assignments for over five years. Effective July 1, 1996, Mr. Steven C.
Carhart, a Vice President of PMC, assumed primary responsibility for the
day-to-day management of the Fund. Prior to joining PMC in July 1996, Mr.
Carhart served as a portfolio manager and an investment analyst for a number of
investment advisers.
