Item 5: Other Events
1) On July 14th we mailed our internal, unaudited Second Quarter Report
to our shareholders and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
2) On July 12th, Union Bankshares, Inc. announced that effective
Thursday, July 13, 2000, its common stock will begin trading on the
American Stock Exchange (AMEX) under the symbol "UNB." The Company
has selected Cranmer and Cranmer, Inc. as its specialist firm.
