         This Schedule 13G relates to shares of the common stock (the "Shares")
of A. P. Green Industries, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the "Issuer"), whose
principal executive offices are located at Green Boulevard, Mexico, Missouri
65265.

Villere & Company, a Louisiana partnership in commendam (the "Partnership"),
