Supplement to Prospectuses dated May 17, 1996
Effective immediately, the Capital Management Group of First Union
National Bank of North Carolina ("CMG"), investment adviser to the Evergreen
International Equity Fund (the "Fund"), will be managing the Fund without the
assistance of Boston International Advisers, Inc. ("BIA"), who until now have
been acting as Sub-Adviser to the Fund. Therefore, all references to BIA in the
Prospectus of the Evergreen International/Global Growth Funds dated May 17,
1996, are deleted.
It is expected that following a Special Meeting of Shareholders to be
held on October 1, 1996, Warburg, Pincus Counsellors, Inc. ("Warburg") will be
approved as the new Sub-Adviser for the Fund. Warburg will provide certain
consulting services to CMG during the interim period, without charge.
The Fund's portfolio manager will remain Richard Wagoner, Executive
Vice President of First Union National Bank of North Carolina, Chief Investment
Officer of CMG since 1973 and a Director of Evergreen Asset Management Corp.
since 1994.
