The "Portfolio managers" section of the prospectus is revised as
follows:
Managed Fund
Al A. Henderson joined AEFC in 1996 and serves as senior portfolio
manager of this Fund. From 1992-1995 he was a senior portfolio
manager at Husic Capital Management. Prior to that he was vice
president and portfolio manager at Alliance Capital Management
Corporation.
Deb Pederson joined AEFC in 1986 and serves as portfolio manager.
She has managed the fixed income portfolio of this Fund since
January 1994. She also manages the fixed income portfolio of IDS
Life Series Fund, Inc. - Managed Portfolio and the low grade
invested assets of IDS Life, IDS Life Insurance Company of New York
and American Enterprise Life Insurance Company.
