Insurance Company (AVLIC) amends its prospectus at pages 1, and elsewhere to
disclose that American Mutual Life Insurance Company has changed its name and
organization as of July 1, 1996 as reflected in the prospectus, to Amerus Life
Insurance Company, an Iowa stock company.
AVLIC further discloses, under the heading "The Executive Officers and
Directors of AVLIC" additional titles as follows: DT Doan: Vice Chairman,
American Mutual Holding Company; Thomas C. Godlasky: Executive Vice
President and Chief Investment Officer, American Mutual Holding Company;
Joseph K. Haggerty: Senior Vice President and General Counsel, American
Mutual Holding Company; Michael E. Sproule: Executive Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer, American Mutual Holding Company.
