Supplement to Prospectus
Dated April 10, 1995
The following information supersedes and replaces the section in the
Fund's Prospectus entitled "Management of the Fund - Custodian, Transfer
and Dividend Disbursing Agent, and Sub-Administrator":
Custodian, Fund Accountant, Transfer and Dividend Disbursing Agent
and Sub-Administrator - Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company (One Boston
Place, Boston, MA 02109) ("Boston Safe"), an indirect wholly-owned
subsidiary of Mellon Bank Corporation, serves as the Fund's custodian. As
custodian, Boston Safe maintains possession of the Fund's investment
securities and provides portfolio recordkeeping services. Boston Safe is
authorized to deposit securities in securities depositories or to use the
services of subcustodians. Mellon Bank, N.A. serves as the fund
accountant for the Fund, maintaining the daily accounting records of the
Fund, including NAV determinations and purchase and sale records. The
Fund's Transfer and Dividend Disbursing Agent is The Shareholder Services
Group, Inc., a subsidiary of First Data Corporation, One American Express
Plaza, Providence, Rhode Island 02903. Premier Mutual Fund Services, Inc.
serves as the Fund's sub-administrator and, pursuant to a Sub-
Administration Agreement with Dreyfus, provides various administrative and
corporate secretarial services to the Fund.

Dated April 10, 1995
The section in the Fund's Statement of Additional Information
entitled "Custodian, Transfer and Dividend Disbursing Agent, Counsel and
Independent Auditors" is changed to "Custodian, Fund Accountant, Transfer
and Dividend Disbursing Agent, Counsel and Independent Auditors" and the
following information supersedes and replaces the first paragraph of that
section:
Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company, One Boston Place, Boston, MA
02109 ("Boston Safe"), is the Fund's custodian. Mellon Bank, N.A., One
Mellon Bank Center, Pittsburgh, PA 15258, is the Fund's fund accountant.
The Shareholder Services Group, Inc., a subsidiary of First Data
Corporation, P.O. Box 9692, Providence, Rhode Island 09240-9830, is the
Fund's transfer and dividend disbursing agent. The Shareholder Services
Group, Inc. and Boston Safe, as custodian, have no part in determining the
investment policies of the Fund or which securities are to be purchased or
sold by the Fund.
