The Issuer Tender Offer Statement on Schedule 13E-4 of Merrill Lynch
High Income Municipal Bond Fund, Inc. (the "Fund") relating to an offer to
purchase (the "Offer") 1,500,000 of the Fund's shares of common stock, par
value $0.10 per share (the "Shares"), and originally filed with the
Securities and Exchange Commission on April 14, 1994, is hereby amended in
order to extend the expiration of the Offer until 12:00 midnight, on Friday,
May 13, 1994.
The Fund is extending the Tender Offer for an additional business day
due to the national day of mourning observed on April 27, 1994 in connection
with the death of former President Richard M. Nixon. The Tender Offer was
scheduled initially to expire on May 12, 1994.
