	  This Supplement is filed pursuant to Rule 497(d) with regard to
Defined Asset Funds-Municipal Investment Trust Fund, Intermediate Term
Series-175.  The text of the supplement to the Prospectus dated July
30, 1993 is as follows:

	  The Fund is concentrated in Ohio obligations that are backed by
letters of credit of National City Bank, the primary bank subsidiary of
National City Corporation which is located in Cleveland, Ohio.  A portfolio
of obligations concentrated in a single state and backed by a financial
institution located in the same state may involve less diversification of
risk than a portfolio diversified among obligations of issuers and obligors
located in many states.

	  As of December 31, 1993, National City Corporation had total
deposits of $23,063,021,000; total assets of $31,067,709,000, total loans
(net allowance for loan losses) of $21,286,141,000 and total shareholders'
equity of $2,763,267,000.

	  Certain information regarding the business and financial position
of National City Corporation is contained in documents filed with The
Securities and Exchange Commission: (1) the Annual Report on Form 10-K for
the year ended December 31, 1993; (2) the quarterly reports on Form 10-Q.
Additionally, National City Corporation filed annual and quarterly reports
with the Comptroller of the Currency.
