MedImmune, Inc. reported the information contained in the following press
release dated January 22, 1998:
MEDIMMUNE CLOSES $66.3 MILLION PRIVATE PLACEMENT
Gaithersburg, MD, January 22, 1998 -- MedImmune, Inc. (Nasdaq:MEDI) today
announced that it has closed the private placement of 1,700,000 new shares of
common stock to institutional investors BB Biotech, Investor AB and INVESCO
Trust Company resulting in net proceeds to MedImmune of $66.3 million. The
private placement was self-managed by MedImmune and was first announced on
January 13, 1998. MedImmune now has 26.2 million shares outstanding.
MedImmune, Inc. is a biotechnology company focused on developing and
marketing products for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases
and for use in transplantation medicine. MedImmune currently markets two
products through its hospital-based sales force and has five new product
candidates in clinical trials. MedImmune is located in Gaithersburg, MD.
