The following information supplements, and to the extent inconsistent
therewith, supersedes the information set forth in the Prospectus dated
February 28, 1996 for the European Portfolio (the "Portfolio") of Smith Barney
World Funds, Inc. (the "Fund").
Portfolio Management
Rein Van der Does is responsible for the day to day operations of the
Portfolio, including making all investment decisions. Mr. Van der Does is a
Vice President of the Fund, Managing Director of Smith Barney Inc. and a
member of the Smith Barney international equity portfolio team. He is also an
International Economist and is a member of the New York Association for
International Investment and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
