On July 6, 2000, Avon Products, Inc., a New York corporation, issued a
press release announcing that it was considering issuing zero coupon convertible
notes to repay a portion of its existing floating rate short-term debt. A copy
of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is hereby
incorporated by reference herein.
