Supplement to the Prospectus dated February 28, 1995
The following two sentences are replacing the first sentence
of the last paragraph on page 7 of the prospectus under the
section entitled "Global Bond Portfolio":
Under normal circumstances, the Portfolio will
maintain a dollar-weighted average duration of not more
than 7.5 years. However, the Portfolio is not subject
to any limitation with respect to the average maturity
of its portfolio or the individual securities in which
the Portfolio may invest.
Section (ii) of the third paragraph on page 8 of the
prospectus under the section entitled "Global Bond Portfolio" is
being revised to read as the following:
(ii) securities issued or guaranteed by a foreign
government or any of its political subdivisions,
authorities, agencies or instrumentalities or by
multiple governmental entities (i.e., international
organizations designated or supported by governmental
entities to promote economic reconstruction or
development, such as the World Bank) rated "A" or
better by S&P or Moody's, or if unrated, determined by
the Investment Adviser or Subadviser to be of
comparable credit quality; provided that the
obligations are denominated in the issuer's own
currency.
