"CENTURA/GUPTA SOFTWARE SIGNS A $2.5 MILLION EMBEDDED DATABASE CONTRACT WITH A
                   MAJOR PROVIDER OF PAYROLL SOFTWARE/SERVICES"

REDWOOD SHORES, CA. (BUSINESS WIRE) JUNE 4, 1998 --- Centura Software
Corporation (NASDAQ: CNTR / formerly Gupta Corporation) today announced a
multi-year $2.5 million software contract with a major payroll services firm.
SQLBase is currently inside more than 90,000 copies of their PC based
payroll application package.

Scott Broomfield, Centura's CEO commented, "This is a serious continued
commitment to Centura's software. I am also pleased that they have agreed to
join our newly formed customer advisory council. The contract with this
company, as well as with dozens of other Centura customers, shows Centura
products add significant value to both application developers and to their
customers. These relationships demonstrate the restoration of confidence our
customers have in our products and management of the company."

The SQLBase 7.0 embedded database was released to the market in December, 1997.
It offers an unparalleled combination of features that translate into tangible
benefits for application developers and end users. With its small footprint,
self-recovery and no DBA (data base administrator) features, SQLBase is the
perfect embedded database for applications sold to small businesses, who have
only a limited IT infrastructure. It provides a full set of RDBMS features as
well as application scalability from smart devices to the Web.

Dataquest ranks SQLBase as having the second largest market share in the
embedded database segment.

Kathy Lane, Senior Vice President, also said that "The market dynamics of the
database product category is shifting, and Centura is in the middle of these
paradigm shifts. Industry analysts are forecasting a slowdown in the purchase
of stand-alone enterprise database products, but analysts see considerable
growth for embedded database products like SQLBase. The Fortune 1000 database
market opportunity is saturated. Future growth in the database product category
will come from small and mid size companies. Small and mid size firms, however,
typically do not purchase standalone enterprise database systems. They buy
applications, like this payroll product, which already include the database.

We expect the market opportunity for embedded databases will continue to grow.
Not only in traditional Windows applications, but also in new platforms like the
web and smart devices."

CENTURA STRENGTHENS CTD 1.5 DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT
                             WITH POWERFUL CDK APPLETS

REDWOOD SHORES, CA., JULY 13, 1998 --- Centura Software Corporation (NASDAQ:
CNTR / formerly Gupta Corporation) today announced the availability of Centura
Team Developer (CTD) version 1.5. Included in CTD 1.5 is the Centura Developer
Extensions Kit (CDK), a powerful application library that allows application
development teams to significantly extend the functionality of their programming
environment by writing executable plug-ins, or applets, built with CDK.

CTD 1.5 is Centura's integrated development environment for developing 32-bit
Windows-based business applications. CTD evolved from SQLWindows, the
application development tool-set for 16-bit environments. CTD 1.5 gives
application development teams the tools they need to deliver scaleable and
robust business applications for enterprise, workgroup, mobile or Web-based
deployment. CTD 1.5 contains a rich fourth generation language (SAL), a
full-featured source code and a component management system (Team Object
Manager), the newly integrated CDK and a variety of other valuable tools.
CTD 1.5 also provides support for both ActiveX and Java bean objects.

"This is a major customer-driven extension to our popular integrated development
environment, CTD," stated Lionel Carrasco, Centura's vice president of business
development. "The CDK application library, shipped as a component of CTD 1.5,
provides a robust collection of software subroutines that developers can use to
customize and greatly enhance their SQLWindows/32 development environment. The
CDK applet library is so powerful that you can write an entire application with
just the CDK subroutines."

CTD 1.5 can be used to create dozens of useful design-time applets including
wizards, help tools, code profiling tools, class browsers, Year 2000 compliance
tools and any SAL or C++ application. CDK applets are bundled with CTD 1.5 as
a result of an overwhelming demand from developers.

Pivotpoint, an industry leader in the mid-range Enterprise Resource Planning
software market, has been using CTD and SQLWindows since 1993. They currently
have more than 600 source code files that build 300 plus Windows executables.
CDK is used extensively to automate functions like code profiling and code
updating.

"SQLWindows is our product of choice for real business applications on PC, LAN
or Web-based systems," explains Sue Barruw, systems architect at Pivotpoint.
"When it comes to massive code

updates and modifications, CDK is the best tool for the job, allowing us to
produce higher quality code in a shorter amount of time."

CENTURA SOFTWARE INTRODUCES THE FIRST RELATIONAL DATABASE
                                  FOR SMART CARDS

REDWOOD SHORES, CA. JULY 21, 1998 --- Centura Software Corporation (NASDAQ:
CNTR/ formerly Gupta Corporation) today announced the availability of SQL Smart
Card--the first embedded relational database available for smart cards. SQL
Smart Card is part of the Centura MicroServer strategy which allows applications
embedded with SQL databases to scale down to new hardware platforms including
Windows CE, Palm Pilot and Psion, and other information appliances that require
small database engines.

SQL Smart Card is currently being used in a pilot project by the Department of
Commerce in Mexico to process import permits for the North American Free Trade
Agreement (NAFTA). The Pilot has substantially reduced paperwork at the border
and increased security at the crossing.

"Like many government agencies, our policies for controlling the importation of
goods require coordinating paperwork processed in multiple locations," states
Eduardo Honey, project leader for the pilot development. Honey continues, "Using
a paper-based system, it was impossible to track and control the importing of
products into Mexico, as there are multiple entrant points. With our new smart
card system, we have not only eliminated the problems related to the paperwork
process, we have immediate, up to date information about the status of imports
and we have a more secure process at the border."

Currently, all companies authorized to import goods into Mexico are issued a
smart card. The smart card embedded database is initialized with the quantity
and types of goods authorized for import. Customs agents along the border are
equipped with PCs and smart card readers, which can read and display which
products are authorized for import. The import customs officer updates the
database to reflect imports that day, and the updated information is written
back to the SQL database stored on the smart card. This local information is
updated each night to the department's main server, providing a consolidated
status of all imports. Using smart card technology, the Mexican government can
now effectively control and report the importing of all goods into the country
in a secure manner.

"SQL Smart Card facilitates a new generation of smart card applications and
extends the smart card industry beyond the flat file data structure," stated
Lionel Carrasco, Centura's vice president of business development. "Using
Centura technology, developers avoid low level, complex programming to access
smart card technology. Instead, developers can read and write to SQL databases
on smart cards using the same read, write and insert commands used to manage SQL
databases on disk-based storage systems via a simple ODBC driver."

                                      -10-

<PAGE>

Because developers have the ability to store and update relational database
information on smart cards using common SQL commands, they can work with a
multitude of smart card vendors. Centura expects other new, innovative
solutions to be developed where smart card technology provides a combination of
individual security and immediate access to information. Centura is currently
looking to forge new strategic alliances and partnerships so that it can further
apply its technology in the smart card industry.

CENTURA/GUPTA ANNOUNCES SECOND QUARTER FINANCIAL RESULTS

Redwood Shores, CA. (Business Wire) July 23, 1998 - Centura Software Corporation
(NASDAQ: CNTR / formerly Gupta Corporation) today announced operating income for
the second quarter of 1998 of $1.0 million, or 8% of net revenue. This compares
with an operating income of $0.4 million in the second quarter of last year. Net
revenue was $13.0 million in the second quarter of 1998 compared with $16.1
million in the second quarter of 1997.

International revenues accounted for 49% and 60% of the Company's net revenues
in the second quarter of 1998 and 1997, respectively. Net income in the second
quarter of 1998 was $0.2 million, or $0.01 per diluted share, compared with net
income of $0.3 million or $0.02 per diluted share in the second quarter of 1997.

Scott Broomfield, Centura's CEO commented, "We are pleased with our continued
performance as indicated by our operating income of $1.0 million for the
quarter, an increase of 150% over second quarter of 1997 levels despite lower
revenue. We are particularly encouraged by growth in the North American market
where invoicing levels were 10% higher than they were for the second quarter of
1997. Our challenge now is to continue building momentum in North America and
to transfer that energy into growth in the European market as well."

Net income for the first six months of 1998 was $0.7 million, or $0.03 per
diluted share, compared with a net loss of ($1.8) million, or ($0.12) per
diluted share for the first six months of 1997. Excluding charges for the
imputed value of warrants, net income was $1.7 million, or $0.07 per diluted
share for the first six months of 1998, representing a $3.5 million increase
over the same period last year.

John Bowman, Centura's CFO commented, "The second quarter operating income is
encouraging considering that we have increased the level of investment in
marketing and sales by 15% over the average expenditures from the last three
quarters." Bowman continued, "Net income, excluding the charge associated with
the imputed value of warrants issued in connection with the re-capitalization,
would have been $0.7 million, or $0.02 per diluted share in the second quarter
of 1998. We also continue to be pleased with the strength of our Balance Sheet.
Cash balances grew by $0.5 million during the second quarter, even after paying
down $1.1 million from our line of credit. We believe that Centura continues to
be well positioned to execute its strategy of profitable growth in the embedded
database market."

                      Centura Software Corporation Featured On
CASPAR WEINBERGER'S WORLD BUSINESS REVIEW TV SERIES

REDWOOD SHORES, CA, AUGUST 6, 1998 -- Centura Software Corp.
(NASDAQ:CNTR/formerly Gupta) announces today the appearance of the company's
CEO, Scott Broomfield, on the WORLD BUSINESS REVIEW to discuss the topic of
ADVANCED INTERNET SOLUTIONS. This weekly television series, hosted by Caspar
Weinberger, chairman of FORBES magazine and former Secretary of Defense during
the Reagan administration, is a new forum for examining the leading-edge
technologies and innovative business solutions shaping the future. The show
featuring Broomfield will air on Sunday, August 23 at 3:00 PM Eastern on CNBC.

The show blends interviews and panel discussions with field reports and
technical reviews designed to enable leaders from a variety of industries to
offer insight into the challenges and opportunities businesses face as the 21st
century nears.

"Centura Software was selected to appear on the show because its technology,
which is built to run in any browser and on any platform, is enabling people
with absolutely no programming knowledge to get their company's information on
the Internet quickly and cost-effectively," said Donald Pratt, the show's
coordinating producer. "Centura's new database query and update product, CENTURA
NET.DB, unlocks data inside your database and puts it on the Web without the
need for programming. Although this sounds relatively simple, Centura net.db
appears to be a major breakthrough in Internet-related technology."

Broomfield explains that Centura net.db's engine examines the database and
determines the connections within the database itself. Once net.db has
automatically generated HTML views of the database tables, it is simply a matter
of using a browser to make the information available via the World Wide Web.
Broomfield adds, "This means there is no program code to write, which is why we
call it code-free; once you have designed your application, you go into runtime
mode and the data can then be accessed right in the browser." Broomfield says
this can be done from anywhere in the world, as both the design and deployment
are done using a Web browser.

Broomfield adds, "This ability to change and update database information is one
of the product's most advanced features. To do this, the user simply logs on to
the Internet and brings up live data via the Web

<PAGE>

browser. Changes are made instantaneously and, as an added benefit, you are
not required to use the memory in your own computer."

Centura is targeting small businesses with Centura net.db, those who don't have
hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest in Web servers and technology to get
their information onto the Web. According to Vinton Cerf, co-founder of a
company called Internet Protocols and another featured guest on the show,
"Centura's net.db is a major breakthrough. What Centura has been able to do is
make it possible to provide information on the Internet that could have never
been accessed without writing high-cost, high-maintenance special-purpose
programs, which this has eliminated."

CENTURA SOFTWARE CORP. INTRODUCES NEW DATA REPLICATION TOOL

                  SQLBASE EXCHANGE OFFERS DEVELOPERS UNPARALLELED
                             FLEXIBILITY AND OPENNESS

REDWOOD SHORES, CA AUGUST 10, 1998 --- Centura Software Corporation (NASDAQ:
CNTR / formerly Gupta Corporation) today extends its RDBMS product family,
SQLBase, with the release of SQLBase Exchange, an automated data moving tool.

As an add-on to Centura's SQLBase database, SQLBase Exchange provides an
effective solution for developers who are creating applications with data
replication requirements. Centura's SQLBase Exchange is the first in a
series of upcoming SQLBase product offerings, designed to address the
embedded database needs of MIS departments and application developers.

"As the arena of distributed business becomes more automated, the access and
movement of data and functions in remote locations is critical to global network
success," explains Kathy Lane, senior vice president of marketing and strategic
alliances for Centura. "SQLBase Exchange's technology allows developers to move
data between SQLBase databases and between SQLBase and a wide variety of
databases."

SQLBase Exchange is a data-oriented technology as opposed to a
transaction-oriented one. This new product effectively accommodates all basic
types of data movement, including data consolidation, data dissemination and
one-to-one data transfer. SQLBase Exchange optimizes data movement by giving
developers unrivaled freedom to shift data between SQLBase and a wide variety
of databases, increasing the appeal of SQLBase to developers creating
applications for distributed deployment.

                                      -16-

<PAGE>

"SQLBase Exchange provides a level of flexibility and openness that simply does
not exist in competing solutions," states Max Stayner, Centura's Director of
SQLBase products. "Unlike Sybase's SQL Anywhere, which can only replicate with
Sybase's databases, SQLBase Exchange allows developers to choose from virtually
any data format. As a result, developers are not restricted to one vendor's
technology."

SQLBase Exchange eliminates large amounts of low-level coding without
sacrificing developers' control and flexibility. With SQLBase Exchange,
developers have the freedom to move data according to their business rules while
enjoying the benefits of less coding.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

Pricing for SQLBase Exchange starts at $249 per client desktop, with other
packages available for deployment and server support. SQLBase Exchange is
available direct from Centura. For more information regarding sales, please

ABOUT SQLBASE 7.0

SQLBase 7.0 is Centura's robust, non-DBA, small footprint embedded database,
designed for integration with business application code for invisible deployment
to end users. SQLBase 7.0 provides developers an optimum solution to create,
deploy and support single and multi-user applications requiring an embedded
database, for use on the desktop, on a web server, in a distributed/mobile
application, or as data storage in a smart card.

Centura Software Corp. Offers Alternative to Pervasive With
"Develop and Deploy" Packaging for SQLBase Product Line

PACKAGING AND PRICING MAKES IT EASIER TO DEVELOP AND DEPLOY SQLBASE

REDWOOD SHORES, CA, (AUGUST 21, 1998) -- Centura Software Corporation
(NASDAQ:CNTR), formerly Gupta, announces develop and deploy packaging for the
company's SQLBase product line -- a robust, non-DBA, small footprint embedded
database designed for integration with business application code and invisible
to the end user. The packaging includes a new pricing model that allows
developers to try SQLBase at a very low cost. In addition, the packaging lets
developers hide the database installation process from end users by allowing
developers to create a one step installation process.

For development, Centura offers the SQLBase Individual Development Kit and the
SQLBase Team Development Kit. Both options allow developers to begin building
applications that embed SQLBase, regardless of the development tool they are
using, and the Team Development Kit also includes the support necessary to
ensure the developer's success. In addition, individuals or teams can develop
and test using both NT and NetWare and on 16- and 32-bit Windows platforms.

For deployment, developers can use the SQLBase Embedded Deployment Pack. This
provides developers flexible and seamless deployment licensing options along
with the components and information necessary to build an integrated installer.

"By providing a database solution that is invisible to the end user, we are
making it easier for ISVs to develop and deploy embedded databases installed at
multiple sites. Developers can now get started with SQLBase, embed it, and
realize the TCO that SQLBase can offer them and their customers," explains Max
Stayner, Director of SQLBase products for Centura. "This new packaging
demonstrates our

<PAGE>

continued commitment to be the embedded database vendor of choice, providing
solutions that make sense for the way developers work."

According to Kathy Lane, senior vice president of marketing and strategic
partnerships for Centura, "Many ISVs aren't aware that SQLBase works not only
with CTD but with other client application development tools including Visual
Basic, C++ and Java. Developers have traditionally thought of Centura as an
application tools vendor, but the reality is that two-thirds of Centura's
revenues come from SQLBase and our volume of business in this market has grown
more than 40% since this time last year. In essence, this develop and deploy
packaging is our invitation to developers all over the world to discover what
thousands of ISVs and millions of end users already know -- that SQLBase has
features and functionality competitive, and even superior to, alternatives such
as Pervasive and SQL Anywhere."

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

Centura's develop and deploy packaging products are currently available and can
be purchased through Centura's normal distribution channels.

REDWOOD SHORES, CA, (SEPTEMBER 9, 1998) -- Centura Software Corporation (NASDAQ:
CNTR/formerly Gupta), today announces its membership in the Smart Card Forum.
Centura joins a select group of industry leaders to promote interoperability and
compatibility between cards, card-reading devices and applications.

The Smart Card Forum is a non-profit, multi-industry organization designed to
promote the widespread acceptance of multiple application smart card technology
through education, the development of business propositions and position on
public policy issues. Established in 1993, the Forum has nearly 200 corporate
members, including companies in banking, financial services, telecommunications,
computer, technology, health care, retail, entertainment industries and several
government agencies.

developers to share common databases on a smart card and to partition
application logic between the Smart Card and the server. As a member of the
Smart Card Forum, we are able to create a technology vision for multiple
application smart cards meeting the needs of industry participants developing
smart card applications."

Centura is currently working on several smart card projects, including SQL Smart
Card--the first embedded relational database available for smart cards. SQL
Smart Card is part of the Centura MicroServer strategy which allows applications
embedded with SQL databases to scale down to new hardware platforms including
Microsoft's Windows CE (NASDAQ: MSFT), 3Com's Palm Pilot (NASDAQ: COMS) and
Psion, as well as other information appliances that require small database
engines.

SQL Smart Card is currently being used in a pilot project by the Department of
Commerce in Mexico to process import permits for the North American Free Trade
Agreement (NAFTA). The Pilot has substantially reduced paperwork at the border
and increased security at the crossing. Centura expects other new, innovative
solutions to be developed where smart card technology provides a combination of
individual security and immediate access to information. In addition to joining
the Smart Card Forum, Centura is currently looking to forge new strategic
alliances and partnerships so that it can further apply its technology in the
smart card industry.

Centura's SQLBase 7.0 is the first database to offer Java developers JDBC
level 4 support. Centura's commitment to NetWare, to Java cross-platform
computing, and to the support of networked devices has resulted in the
company's introduction of a highly intelligent integration server called
Centura Blazer. With this server installed in a NetWare Web environment,
developers can now integrate and add server-side processing logic to events
or transactions coming from multiple data sources. Devices on the network
can then interact with database servers, SQLBase 7.0 or others, and take
advantage of services such as Novell's NDS.

"Novell has always been an important platform for Centura and we are
extremely pleased to be selected as a software partner by Novell," states
Scott Broomfield, president and CEO of Centura. "We are excited about
working with Novell to offer solutions in the emerging market for embedded
software and smart devices that connect to networks."

"We are very pleased to see Centura's continued commitment to the NetWare
platform," says Rich Running, director of product marketing, Novell.
"Centura products can add significant value to application developers and
customers. Centura's decision to certify SQLBase 7.0 with NetWare 5 gives
developers an optimum solution to create, deploy and support applications
requiring an embedded database, whether it's being used on the NetWare
server, the desktop client or in a distributed/mobile application."

CENTURA ANNOUNCES SQLBASE QUASAR FOR NON-PC DEVICES

SQLBASE QUASAR 7.0 OFFERS MANUFACTURERS A COST-EFFECTIVE WAY
TO EMBED A ROBUST SQL DBMS INSIDE NON-PC DEVICES

REDWOOD SHORES, CA, (OCTOBER 5, 1998) -- Centura Software Corporation
(NASDAQ:CNTR), formerly Gupta, announces the release of SQLBase Quasar 7.0,
designed for manufacturers of devices like printers and copiers who want the
power of a relational database embedded within each device to record device
events for various types of monitoring and reporting purposes. SQLBase Quasar
is a special purpose version of SQLBase, with pricing and functionality
specifically for large volume deployment in non-PC devices.

"With continually improving microprocessor price performance, manufacturers are
adding intelligence to their devices to differentiate their products. This
requires an embedded database to be shipped with each device," explains Lionel
Carrasco, senior vice president of business development for Centura. "The new
pricing and functionality of SQLBase Quasar is ideal for OEM situations. As a
perfect example, Xerox's (NYSE:XRX) high volume DocuTech Production Printers are
shipped with an embedded software running on Quasar. By incorporating Centura's
technology, these printers can perform high-volume production print on demand
and integrate large print job submissions with production printing systems,
binding and finishing operations."

"There will continue to be a strong demand for embedded databases in everything
from printers to ovens," says Scott Broomfield, CEO of Centura. "Our
microserver strategy and this launch of Quasar demonstrate our commitment to
provide superior products for these platforms. The recent reorganization of
Sybase to focus on this space confirms our belief that new platforms such as
smart appliances and smart cards offer tremendous opportunity for Centura."

Macintosh computer. Barnett is a vice president of Giga Information Group
and specializes in IT architecture, application development, data management,
and distributed computing.

According to Barnett, "Companies today face two application development
imperatives: improve productivity and time to market, while at the same time

for building applications from components, new Web Applications, and
microservers. Centura is also providing bonus master classes to offer attendees
the opportunity to expand their skills and strategic implementation of
distributed component computing.

"We are very excited about this year's event because it is the perfect forum to
demonstrate our commitment to our customers," explains Scott Broomfield, CEO of
Centura. "In addition to showcasing forecasts from some of the industry's
leading influencers, we will have the opportunity to give our customers and
prospects a preview of what should prove to be an incredibly exciting year."

The Technology & Solutions Fair, held in conjunction with the customer
conference, will feature exhibiting partners who are using Centura products to
gain a competitive advantage in their industry including Fecher Ralgan, Minolta
and Metex Systems.

CENTURA AND EMWARE PARTNER TO PROVIDE FRAMEWORK FOR ADDING
BUSINESS LOGIC TO EMBEDDED DEVICE NETWORKS.

CENTURA JOINS EMBED THE INTERNET CONSORTIUM AS A FOUNDING MEMBER

REDWOOD SHORES, CA. (OCTOBER 12, 1998) -- Centura Software Corporation
(NASDAQ: CNTR / formerly Gupta Corporation) today announces a partnership
with emWare, Inc., the leading provider of distributed device networking
software. Centura and emWare will co-market and sell a software package
comprised of emWare's EMIT-Registered Trademark- (Embedded Micro
Internetworking Technology-TM-) and Centura's new Thin Application Server,
code-name Blazer. The combined product bundle will be the first
commercially available software solution that enables devices with 8- and
16-bit microcontrollers to access corporate networks, directory services
and business logic. Centura has also joined 11 other industry leaders as a
founding member of emWare's Embed The Internet Consortium (ETI) to deliver
low-cost solutions for home, business and industrial equipment products.

"It's only natural that Centura extend our client/server expertise in the
Windows platform to new non-PC, server-centric platforms such as PDAs and
smart appliances," explains Kathy Lane, senior vice president of strategic
alliances for Centura. "With a combination of Blazer and EMIT software, a
remote embedded device becomes another node in a distributed computing
network. Using the unique application partitioning features in Blazer,
developers can extend and execute the same business logic and network
services to non-PC devices as they can to any PC."

Using Centura's Thin Application Server, EMIT-enabled devices like
electric utility meters and vending machines will be fully integrated
with the information and processes transacted on Microsoft Transaction
Servers (MTS), Oracle's Application Servers and BEA's Tuxedo as well as
other leading application and transaction platforms. Centura and
emWare's solution is the first economical solution to allow home
electric meters to report usage online to a database server or generate
statistics on customer behavior, trends, and problem alerts.

"EMIT brings flexible device networking solutions to intelligent devices,"
states Christopher Sontag, chief technology officer and co-founder of
emWare, Inc. "Centura's Thin

<PAGE>

Application Server provides new opportunities by extending business
logic to transactions. Thanks to the combination of Centura and emWare's
technology, these devices can now communicate with a number of different
network databases, directory services and other enterprise applications."

Blazer offers an easy, open development and integration environment. A
single Blazer server can handle and support thousands of EMIT-enabled
devices and dozens of applications. Management is easy because Blazer uses
small execution components called Scriplets to handle and control
application logic, integration and behavior. Written in Visual Basic or
Java Script, these scriptlets call COM- and Java-based objects as well as
ODBC data sources. The execution occurs in Blazer to allow integration and
access to unlimited backend services. This method of programming goes
beyond traditional distributed computing by creating a true "virtual
computer" where one device can use any resource available on the network.

Blazer supports an architecture using a high performance server that can
load as many Scriplets as needed to achieve high scalability. The server
side components have a small footprint of less than 150k in size, with
total component size less than 3mb of hard disk space. Blazer is currently
available for beta testing and will be on the market in Q1 1999.

At the core of EMIT software's distributed device networking architecture
is the industry's smallest micro Web server that uses as little as 1Kb of
memory at the device. Standard Internet technologies, such as Java, HTTP
and a Web browser interface are used to access, control and monitor devices
through emGateway, the communication link between IP networks and
lightweight networks, such as I(2)C-TM-, RS485, CAN, and RF.
