SUPPLEMENT TO PROSPECTUS
DATED MAY 1, 1995
In July 1995, Mr. Mark D. Luftig, a Vice President
of W.H. Reaves & Co., Inc., the subadvisor of Strong
American Utilities Fund (the "Subadvisor"), became a
co-manager of the Fund. Prior to July, Mr. Luftig
served the Subadvisor as a Vice President and utilities
research analyst. Prior to joining the Subadvisor in
January 1995, he was the Executive Vice President and
Director of Equity Research at Kemper Securities, Inc.,
where he worked since 1992. For approximately three
years prior to that, Mr. Luftig served as the Vice
President of the National Economic Research
Association, Inc. From 1975 until 1989, Mr. Luftig
worked at Salomon Brothers, Inc. as the Director of
Research.
In addition, effective July 1995, Messrs. Thomas R.
Williams and Douglas S. Robertson will no longer serve
as co-managers of the Fund but will continue to serve
the Subadvisor and the Fund as utilities research analysts.
