Publication of Combined Financial Results
On October 1, 1997, The Colonial BancGroup, Inc. ("BancGroup") acquired by
merger First Independence Bank of Florida ("First Independence"). This
combination was accounted for by the pooling-of-interests method. The
following financial results include First Independence for the ten months ended
October 31, 1997:
