From the date of this Supplement through June 30, 1996, the Company will not
deduct from the assets of the Variable Account the Mortality and Expense Risk
Charge at the rate of 1.25% per year (see "Highlights"; "Fees and Expenses";
"Mortality and Expense Risk Charge"). Instead, for this period, the Company will
deduct this Mortality and Expense Risk Charge at the rate of 1.20% per year.
