Prospectus dated June 5, 1995

The Prospectus is amended as follows:
1. The second paragraph under the caption "Derivative Investments" on
page 13 is deleted and replaced with the following:
Derivative investments are used by the Fund in some cases for
hedging purposes and in other cases to seek income or total
return. In the broadest sense, exchange-traded options and
futures contracts (discussed in "Hedging," below) may be
considered "derivative investments." Any derivative investment
that is a debt security will be included for purposes of the
Fund's policy that at least 65% of its total assets will be
invested in debt securities.
